Comprised of talented individuals from all over the world, NZP's leadership team are renowned in the industry for their knowledge and experience. The team know that our performance is a pivotal to the success of our customers. That allows us to deliver the quality product that our valued clients have come to expect.

CEO - Andy Lewis

Andy joined NZP in April 2005 as General Manager, responsible for overall management & administration of the company, global procurement of key raw materials and key client management.

In September 2009, Andy oversaw the acquisition of UK subsidiary (Dextra). In March 2010, Andy was appointed to the role of CEO of the company’s three subsidiaries, and is a Director on the company’s Board. Prior to NZP, Andy gained experience managing a number of manufacturing companies across Asia-Pacific, leading business mergers & transitions.

Andy holds a BSc, and MBA (Massey University) and is a Member of the NZ Institute of Directors.

CFO - Lisa Webster

Lisa joined NZP in early 2018 as Finance Manager, being promoted FC/CFO later that year. Lisa has over 15 years of senior experience in financial management for NZ manufacturing companies, including Noske-Kaeser and GSK and is now responsible for NZP's financial and administration functions.

Lisa has a BBS in Accountancy and is a CA member of Chartered Accountants of Australia & New Zealand (CAANZ)

Chief Scientific Officer - Alex Weymouth-Wilson

Alex completed his graduate and postgraduate education at the University of Reading receiving his PhD in 1993 under the supervision of Professor John Mann. With over 20 years experience in the fine chemical industry at Dextra, Isochem and CMS,

Alex has extensive synthetic experience developing innovative scalable routes to key intermediates and API's predominately in the field of carbohydrates. Alex was appointed Chief Scientific Officer of Dextra and NZP in 2011.

General Manager NZP - Ed Teece

Ed joined NZP in April 2010 as Operations Manager. Ed has a wealth of global experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, spanning over 20 years, in a variety of functions including Site Operations, Manufacturing (Finished Dosage Forms and API), Quality Operations, Project Management and R&D.

Ed is a Chartered Chemist and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (CChem FRSC), Chartered Quality Professional (CQP CQI), holds an MSc in Industrial Pharmacy from the University of Manchester, is an experienced EU Qualified Person (Commercial and IMP) with eligibility for nomination under the permanent provisions. Ed is a Company Director and a Member of the NZ Institute of Directors (MInstD).

General Manager UK Site - Karen Etherington

Karen joined Dextra in 2006 to manage the analytical and quality functions at the Reading site. Having worked for the WHO, been instrumental in the founding and expansion of Warwick Analytical Service, the head of Analytical Chemistry at Ultrafine and SAFC in Manchester she has significant experience in the research, development, manufacturing, quality and regulatory activities related to the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients.

Head of Human Resources - Danella Ainsworth

Having joined NZP in July 2013 after relocating from Australia, Danella has been responsible for the management of the HR function including the development and implementation of human resource strategies to meet company objectives across our businesses in NZ and the UK.  Danella’s previous 20 years’ experience includes operating at a senior HR level across a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, manufacturing and agriculture. 

Danella holds a BBus, majoring in Personnel Management (Deakin University, Melbourne), a Grad Dip in Business (Monash University) and a Masters in HRM (Monash University, Melbourne) and is an active member of Human Resources New Zealand (HRNZ).
