Rebecca WalkdenRole: Quality Engineer
From: Lancashire, England
I originally moved to New Zealand to fulfil a one year contract role as a Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician, preparing individualised dosages of sterile drugs for patients at Christchurch Hospital. Thirteen years later and I am still here!
After living in Christchurch for three years, I was offered a GMP compliance role in Auckland and made the transition to living in the beautiful but busy City of Sails. I was working in pharmaceutical quality when my partner and I made the decision to move to Palmerston North to be closer to family in late 2016. I began my role as NZP’s Quality Engineer in January 2017; this is a busy, cross functional role within which I am responsible for ensuring we comply with pharmaceutical regulations and NZP procedures. I really enjoy liaising with all of NZP’s different stakeholders, giving advice and assisting with investigations, carrying out root cause analyses and resolving any problems as they arise.
