JIM BEAUMONT - Business Development Director
Jim re-joined NZP-Dextra in April 2013, following an earlier period with the company from 2008-2010. He now has all sales, marketing and business development responsibilities for NZP and Dextra. Jim is a seasoned business development professional having spent over 20 years in commercial roles within the fine chemical, pharmaceutical and chemical process development sectors. He has led API and chemical development sales teams at Aptuit, providing coaching and mentoring for a world-wide team, and occupied senior sales and business development roles at PhosphonicS, Evotec, Penwest Pharmaceuticals and Genzyme.
JAMES BOYDELL - Business Development Manager
James joined the Business Development team in January 2015 having previously served as a Group Leader within NZP’s R&D Department. Prior to this, James spent six years at Dextra, serving first as Senior Synthetic Chemist then as a Group Leader. James received his PhD in Organic Chemistry in 2006 under the supervision of Dr Bruno Linclau at the University of Southampton.
RHYS MCKINLAY - Business Development Manager
Rhys took up a Business Development role in 2015, having previously served as NZP Sales Manager since 2007. Prior to this, he held a Site Technical Management role at Goodman Fielder’s fresh dairy site in Longburn, following technical roles with New Zealand Dairy Board’s Global Operations division at their Wellington head office. He holds a BCom in Marketing and a BSc in Microbiology from the University of Otago, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Dairy Science and Technology from Massey University.
SELWYN YORKE - Business Development Manager
Selwyn Yorke joined NZP in 1992 His role includes identifying, accessing and developing new product and new market opportunities. He has many years experience in research gained in research institutions and companies. Selwyn holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry and a business diploma. He was elected to the Fellowship of the New Zealand Institute of Chemistry in 2004.
ANDY LEWIS - Chief Executive Officer
Andy joined NZP in April 2005 as General Manager of NZP Ltd, responsible for the day to day management & administration of the company. In September 2009 Andy oversaw the acquisition of NZP’s subsidiary Dextra, a carbohydrate chemistry development company based in Reading (UK) and in March 2010 Andy was appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer for NZP, JTB and Dextra. Andy holds a BSc in Technology Management, and an MBA from Massey University and is a Member of the NZ Institute of Directors. Throughout his time with the company, Andy has been involved in managing the key external relationships with global raw material supply partners, as well as directly managing the relationships with NZP’s major cholic acid clients.
BARRY OLD - Executive Director
Barry Old started at NZP in 1983 when he was appointed as Research Manager. Since then he has held several technical and market related positions within the company. Prior to joining NZP he was employed by the New Zealand Dairy Board and became associated with NZP through his involvement in a joint venture project. Like several other managers at NZP, Barry has a PhD in Organic Chemistry.
